For someone who, for more than a couple of decades, has been writing at least one article daily about technology and its effects on a personal page without anyone forcing him to do so, it is understandable that people habits and traditions are something important: being able to turn almost anything into a habit is something that works for me for many things when it comes to putting order in a brain that tends to very much to chaos.
So here I am one more year wishing you happy holidays, with a congratulations that includes my company, IE University, although it is not their official congratulations. For some years now, the IE has become so overwhelmingly large that there is no longer a human way to locate in it or in its networks anything resembling an official congratulation, so I draw it up in a moment by cutting and pasting things from here and there. And like every year, I take the opportunity to tell you things about myself and my activity.
This year has been crazy, but it’s nothing compared to what’s going to be next. My second year as a grandfather – Don Julio Dans is now twenty-two months old – has me absolutely excited. My entrusted task of being “the grandfather who speaks in English” works like a charm, so I have a grandson who is a real sponge and who not only talks to me and answers me all the time in English , but also leaves the teachers at his school amazed by how well he understands everything. He is in that wonderful moment in which he speaks everything with half a language, but with half a language in bilingual, and that has me extremely impressed. But I better stop for a moment to dry all the drool that I have fallen on the keyboard, and continue.
For next year, many, many new developments, which will affect many things. Among others, to my dedication, because in addition to IE, in which I am going to celebrate thirty-five years of dedication to teaching, I am going to propose some other adventure that I cannot yet tell, but that I will reveal. in a few days. I can anticipate that it will surely affect the themes of this page, because when someone launches into something like that, their brain realigns to see everything through that prism, and that, logically, will be noticed. .
It is a project that I think you are going to like, which is extremely consistent with my career, and above all, in which I am learning and with which I am having fun as if there were no tomorrow… that in the year in which I am going to turn sixty, seems especially important to me. Sixty years is nothing, as the tango would say, but what for many is an age that is close to retirement, for me is very far from it: first, because if I can avoid it, I will not retire, or not in a way that prevents me from continuing to work, and second, because as you will see as soon as I can tell you everything, I am filling myself with things to do in the coming years.
